Discover Before You Build AI Products That Execs Approve

Rocky - ProductLedCEO

3x Head of Product, 2x CEO, 1x GM

Master the Executive, Inventor & Operator skills that make C-suite fight for PMs

AI is not replacing Product Managers. It is replacing the ones who cannot think.

AI Product Builder — build a product using AI tools & ship fast — is no longer a differentiator.

So what separates the PMs companies fight to keep from those quietly replaced?

The measure of success is never how many AI products did we ship.

It is did we move the needle.

Before you become a Product Builder, you need to be a Product Explorer the ability to connect every decision to a business outcome that your executive is accountable for.

A Product Explorer is given problems to solve, not features to build. That distinction changes how execs see you.

That discipline is called Product Strategy & Discovery — & most PMs skip it entirely, turbocharging the feature factory. Garbage in, garbage out, faster.

The PM who survives develops 3 skills:

  • Executive skills to set product strategy and earn approval

  • Inventor skills to run Product Discovery & find solutions worth building

  • Operator skills to scope, frame ROI, & deliver the business outcomes

Over four Saturdays, you develop all three — through the Product Model, build your own AI opportunity, & a business case judged by Rocky & a Fortune 10 leader.

Not someday. Now.

What you’ll learn

Go from PM to Leader executives trust — by earning approval for AI products that deliver measurable business outcomes via the Product Model.

  • Develop Executive judgement on customer value, business viability & market dynamics — the skills that make PMs irreplaceable to the C-suite.

  • Practice making AI product management decisions without escalating — apply real-world stories to your own AI opportunity with live pushback

  • Use AI as a coach to sharpen your AI management product judgement — learn to amplify your thinking, not abdicate it to a prompt.

  • Apply Executive skills used by Product companies such as Google, Amazon to find the AI problem that moves your most critical business metric

  • Use reasoning to challenge assumptions & avoid strategy-by-process — the trap that produces output without business outcome

  • Produce a 1-page Product Strategy in week 1 connecting company mission to the business outcome you are accountable for this quarter.

  • Use Inventor skills to test your riskiest assumptions — validating that the solution delivers the outcome before the product can be shipped

  • Study how Product companies such as Spotify, Netflix run rapid experimentation — all working backwards from a business outcome.

  • Build a discovery prototype with Claude in class, test it with a peer, and document evidence for why this solution is worth building.

  • Apply critical Business skills framing ROI and risk in a language that gets a CEO to say yes — shifting from executor to strategic leader.

  • Use approaches from Product companies like Apple, Microsoft to scope your product & show how every decision ties to business outcomes.

  • Produce a complete business case in week 3: case, scope, ROI framing, risk register, and executive recommendation tied to outcomes.

  • Master pitching skills used at Amazon, Google, & Netflix — C-suite narratives anchored in business outcomes, not feature lists.

  • Refine your opening, evidence framing, and close with Rocky's real-time coaching on outcome communication.

  • Present your business case to Rocky & a Fortune 10 Leader — earning direct feedback on your thinking, judgement, and outcome case

  • "The new PM question isn't 'How do I ship faster'? It's 'How do I make better decisions, earlier, with less certainty'?" — Marty Cagan

  • Build the habit of outcome-based reasoning so every decision traces back to a measurable business outcome your company needs.

  • Leave asking the question the best product companies ask: not did we ship — but did we move the needle and make the business stronger.

    Dr. Mari Pantoja-Smith

Principal Product Manager at Mayo Clinic
  • He did an excellent job focusing the class on the topic at hand. He was able to pull from his personal experiences to bring additional insights and real business use cases to the class. While I had no true experience and would consider myself new to the product management space, Rocky has removed that notion by providing a wealth of knowledge.
