You're a PM with a backlog of small tools that would save your team hours — a spec generator, a research summarizer, a feedback triager. None of them get built. Engineering is heads-down on the roadmap, your idea sits in the backlog for quarters, and you make do with a messy spreadsheet and copy-paste.

This lab fixes that. In 2.5 hours you'll go from a real idea to a working tool, live at a public URL you own — built with Claude Code under the hood, no programming required. You'll pick a tool with a clear job, design it so non-technical teammates actually use it, and ship and deploy it before the session ends.

You leave with the thing itself — and a repeatable pattern to build the next two or three on your own, without filing a ticket or waiting on a sprint.

What you’ll learn

You'll go from depending on eng for every small tool to shipping your own, turning backlog ideas into live apps your team actually uses

  • Apply a 3-part filter — narrow scope, clear job-to-be-done, measurable use — to tell real tools from toy demos.

  • Walk through 3 worked examples from real PM work: a spec generator, a research summarizer, a feedback triager.

  • Map the tool's inputs and outputs before building, so it does one job well.

  • Write the prompts and a simple interface a non-technical teammate can run without you in the loop.

  • Scaffold and build the tool live with Claude Code — no programming required.

  • Ship it to a public URL during the session and open it on your phone/laptop

  • Test against edge cases and messy inputs so it doesn't break on first contact

  • Capture feedback and iterate after the session.

    Scaffold and build your tool live, then ship it to a public URL you own — narrated end to end, no programming required. By the end you'll open your own app on your phone.

  • Iterate and instrument

    Handle edge cases and messy inputs, add a simple way to capture feedback, and learn the repeatable pattern you'll use to clone your next two or three tools.
