What you'll learn

Tech isn't so shiny anymore

We might be done with tech and tech might be done with us. Plan what's next, even if we're staying in tech for now.

It's not your fault

You didn't break the job market. You didn't convince companies to make crappy decisions. Shift away from self-blame.

Preview the frameworks

Learn a little about the Phoenix Flight Plan and the Grounded Goals Framework.

Try an exercise

I'll introduce one of the book's 18 exercises. We'll jump into a Miro board and try a quick version together.

Why this topic matters

This topic is on your mind. What kind of work will you do next? How much can you earn? Where will you live? Life and work are evolving fast. Don't be caught without a (flexible) plan.

You'll learn from

Debbie Levitt

Author, coach, 30 years in tech

Debbie is a Customer Experience (CX) and User Experience (UX) strategist and change agent specializing in setting houses in order in record time. She has nearly 30 years of experience but has been advised to mention only 15 years on her résumé and LinkedIn.

In 2024, Debbie was in a panic about the future of tech and corporate work. Could she shift into other jobs with her "transferrable skills"? Hmmm, not so much... when every job seems to want 4 years of a proven track record.

This meant looking more deeply at herself, and figuring out some non-corporate and/or entrepreneurial adventures that could carry her to retirement. She then created frameworks based on her process, which led to the Life After Tech book and exercises.
