Life After Tech: Redefine Yourself and Discover New Work Opportunities

Debbie Levitt, MBA, CPIC, ACC

aka Mary Poppins

Our tech or corporate careers are unlikely to carry us to retirement.

This course follows my 2024 Life After Tech book, reading the book and doing the 18 exercises as we go.

Debbie will personally review everybody's exercise work. You'll get personal coaching and feedback.

Life After Tech is about self-reflection, improvement, and shifting into new work areas.

It's better to have a plan and not need it (yet) than to need to enact a plan you haven't made. You don't have to quit your job. But you should be ready with what's next.

🌱 This course will help you discover, plan, and plant seeds for work areas you can jump into now or later.

Working in technology has become stressful and difficult, if not impossible. Jobs are increasingly hard to find. Layoffs are too common. Many salaries are lower than they used to be. Workplaces feel increasingly toxic, and appear to have abandoned values and ethics. Experts predict that AI will reduce or eliminate tens of millions of jobs in the coming years.

As a work/career advisor to hundreds of clients, and now an ICF-accredited life coach, I'm excited to help push your board in new directions.

What you’ll learn

You write your own story. You are the phoenix. Get grounded, plan, rise, and soar.

  • Future career and work areas go beyond "transferrable skills." Dig deeper into who you are to discover where to go next.

  • The common version of "Ikigai" that we are pushed is a Mexican astrologer's take on a Japanese concept. Let's replace it.

  • Work might just be work, and that's OK. Doing what you can do well and being paid can free you up for your real life purpose.

  • The "Phoenix Flight Plan" helps you redefine yourself and your career/work direction(s).

  • The "Grounded Goals Framework" replace the message we get that our work must change the world and serve our life purpose.

  • Match work to Core Personal Qualities. Go beyond "transferrable skills."
