Build your Household OS

Get the household out of your head and into a system you can share.

Running a household means tracking many recurring processes — meals, school emails, signups, appointments. The context needed to run them is usually undocumented and held by one person, which makes the work hard to delegate and easy to drop.

This workshop teaches a decomposition method to offload your mental load to AI: for any recurring task, identify its inputs, its process, and its output. Specifying inputs explicitly is what makes AI outputs useful and custom-tailored to your family.

You'll build a meal planning and grocery shopping workflow with us, then decompose a process you bring. You leave with one AI workflow, a blueprint to build something of your own, and an evergreen method to tackle the next thing on your list.

No coding or app development. Workflows run in a standard Claude chat session.

What you’ll learn

Stop being the only person who knows how your household runs. Build AI workflows to hold the threads for you, and that your partner can use.

  • Learn the decomposition framework: name the inputs, define the process, specify the output.

  • Watch it applied live to a meal planning and grocery shopping workflow, where a "simple" task turns out to need seven separate inputs.

  • Practice this framework on a process of your choice, with feedback from workshop instructors and participants.

  • Follow along as we build a starter meal planning flow that incorporates your family’s preferences, recipes, and calendar.

  • No app-building or coding — just a Claude chat session you can rebuild on your own in ten minutes.

  • Leave with the exact prompts and setup, ready to run immediately.

  • Write an input inventory for one process you want to offload to AI.

  • Understand why household work is so hard to hand off: most of the inputs live only in your head.

  • Use the inventory as the thing you show your partner, that truly illustrates the mental load.

  • Set up shared notes, calendars, and inboxes that feed your system without you being the middle(wo)man.

  • See a real example: a running-low list both partners add to that feeds into a grocery shopping assistant.

  • Diagnose the three usual culprits: missing inputs, vague outputs, and too many steps at once.

  • Learn when to add context, when to split the task, and when to abandon the automation entirely.

  • Build the habit of iterating on a workflow instead of giving up the first time it disappoints.

  • Share what you built in a group show-and-tell and see everyone else's approaches.

  • Make a specific commitment for the week ahead, with a list of starter processes if you need one.

  • Take home the framework, applicable to anything recurring — at home or at work.

Who this workshop is for

  • The default parent. You hold every thread — forms, sizes, dinner Thursday. You want a system that carries some of it, not another list.

  • The partner who wants to take more on. You want to own more household work, but you have to ask what needs doing. You want the whole picture

  • The AI-curious who wants a real project. You've used Claude for one-off questions but want to learn to build with it.
