What you will get out of this course

How to get the career outcomes you want

We will review tactics for improving your chances of getting hired, what managers want you to know about getting recognized & promoted, how to find the right company & role based on your skills & ambitions, and debunk costly myths about career management.

How to find the right next company, based on what matters to you

For ambitious & talented people, their decision of what companies to interview with and join is almost always the most pivotal career decision they can make. We will cover frameworks for evaluating companies that are personalized to what matters most to you in your life & career.

How to make the hard trade-offs between Title, Money, and Scope

We will discuss common situations that talented PMs run into:

  • Should I join a large tech company or should I join a startup as VP Product?
  • Should I pursue a senior IC path or a PM Manager path?
  • Should I switch from B2B to consumer or vice versa?
  • and many other real situations...

How to handle the current jobs downturn

We will review

  • How to tell if layoffs might be coming
  • How to decide what your game-plan should be, based on risk of layoffs & alignment with your company
  • How to find companies that are still doing very well in this downturn
  • How to get hired in a competitive market
  • Bonus resources

How to mentor & coach other PMs on their career decisions
