Women in Bitcoin

We begin with examining the history of money – from barter and ancient forms of money, to government-issued notes.

This workshop lays the foundation for how our monetary system has evolved and the economic impacts of the gold standard.

Workshop 2 focuses on the history and context of government money.

We will cover the founding of the Federal Reserve, U.S. monetary policy from WWI through WWII, how the U.S. became the world's global reserve currency, and what happened since President Nixon removed the dollar's gold backing.

We'll also examine the decline of the purchasing power of the U.S. dollar and the bubbles formed in stocks and real-estate between the 90s and the present.

In Workshop 3, we'll examine Bitcoin from multiple angles and discuss its growth as a monetary asset. We're going to address some big questions ...

• What is Bitcoin and blockchain?
• How does mining work?
• What is the history of this technology and its value proposition?

This workshop aims to make you comfortable with the terminology surrounding Bitcoin so you can speak articulately about it with your communities. We also discuss the glaring gender gap in Bitcoin.

In Workshop 4, we are going to discuss the way that Bitcoin might shape our future. We'll examine ways Bitcoin has been adopted and utilized around the world to increase access to banking and how it contributes to human flourishing and empowerment.

We will also discuss Bitcoin's apolitical nature and dig deeper into ways that we can bring more women into the ecosystem.

In Workshop 5, we are so excited to share a virtual roundtable with some of the most successful women in bitcoin.

The guests on our roundtable will be:

• Lyn Alden, an investment strategist and chart guru
• Hailey Lennon, crypto attorney and a partner at Anderson Kill law firm
• Flori Marquez, co-founder of BlockFi
• Claire Jencks, our phenomenal coach

Natalie will lead Q&A and ask the women about their careers and areas of expertise.

This is our final chance to connect as a group in the official workshop series. We'll plan on discussing topics from all of the course materials, debrief on the guest-speaker panel, and ask any lingering questions.

We also want to facilitate group networking and connections so that our community is geared to stay in touch and continue to bring more women into the Bitcoin and crypto ecosystem!
