AI Habits for Legal Professionals: Hands-On Workshop

The Atticus Project

Where AI becomes second nature

AI is reshaping legal practice. Build the habits to lead it.

Most lawyers are aware of AI's potential to transform legal work, but few have developed the consistent practices needed to make it part of their daily routine.

It is as simple and as difficult as flossing your teeth to become AI enabled as a lawyer. The challenge is not a lack of information, it is the difficulty of building reliable habits around them, particularly under the time pressure and complexity of real legal matters.

The Atticus Project is a nonprofit advancing AI performance, education, and opportunity in the legal space. This workshop is the result of hands-on training developed alongside in-house legal teams and GCs who have made AI work in their day to day.

Each cohort is led by a practicing GC who shares their own AI journey and walks participants through real use cases from the field. Participants leave with concrete, repeatable habits they can apply immediately.

Instructors rotate by cohort. Check your cohort description to see who's leading yours.

What you’ll learn

Participants leave with sustainable AI habits they can carry into their practice and strengthen over time.

  • Work through guided exercises in contract review, research, email triage, and negotiation prep using general-purpose AI tools.

  • Leave having completed practical workflows you can replicate on your own matters.

  • Practice with ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini in a structured, supported environment with live feedback.

  • Learn the Atticus framework for turning one-off AI experiments into consistent, repeatable daily practices.

  • Walk through the full day of an AI-enabled legal professional and identify where habits form naturally.

  • Access a 8-weeks habit-reinforcing email program designed to keep your practice growing after the workshop.

  • Develop a working collection of prompts, workflows, and reference materials specific to the instructor's practice area.

  • Customize your playbook during the session with guidance from the presenter and the Atticus team.

  • Take home slide decks, glossary cards, and safety tips you can continue building on.

  • Work through scenarios involving confidentiality, accuracy, and bias using the AI Safety Reference Card.

  • Understand how evolving professional responsibility standards apply to your use of AI in legal work.

  • Each session is led by a GC who walks through their own AI adoption, including what works and what they learned.

  • Ask questions and compare approaches with the presenter and your peer cohort in real time.

  • Access the course community for ongoing discussion, shared resources, and follow-up from Atticus.
