I came into Shine’s course with prior experience in storytelling across product and leadership roles, so I was probably not the typical target participant. The course still gave me useful ideas that I was able to incorporate into my own strategy and framework for crafting interview stories. Most engineers naturally focus on the features, projects, and technical details they worked on. This course helps them step back and connect their work to the bigger picture: scope, impact, decision-making, and business context. I think it’s a great resource for engineers across levels who want to tell stronger, more strategic stories in behavioral interviews.

This Maven course was incredibly comprehensive and gave me a clear, practical framework for preparing for behavioral interviews. What stood out most was how well the material was organized: it broke preparation down into high-level skill sets, then mapped those to specific traits, and even provided question structures tied to each area. That made the entire process feel much more actionable and focused. Before this course, I could come up with plenty of stories, but I was never fully confident about which ones would actually be useful in an interview. This course helped connect those dots. It made it much easier to understand not just what stories to prepare, but how to shape them into thoughtful, relevant narratives that clearly demonstrate the right skills and traits. Finally, the course materials complement the session extremely well and is something I can keep returning to afterward to reinforce what I learned. It’s one of the most comprehensive resources I’ve seen for behavioral interview prep—not just a checklist, but a structured guide for making sure you have the right stories, know what they demonstrate, and can tell them effectively.

Very practical course with a better STAR++ framework for senior behavioral interviews. It helps dissect stories to add overlooked details, signaling senior-level traits. The way Shine broke down the elements of a good story is something I'll use for the rest of my career.
