Turn One Project Into Proof for Your Resume and LinkedIn

Temidayo Afonja

Show what you contributed in words a hiring team can see and trust

You have years of experience. But when you sit down to update your resume, it's easier to list what you were responsible for than to explain your specific contribution.

This is a working session, not another hour of job-search tips. Bring one project, your current resume, and one target job posting. I’ll guide you through writing a Proof Line: one sentence explaining what you did and what changed, using details you can honestly support.

You’ll turn that evidence into a resume bullet, then draft a LinkedIn headline and one referral or reconnect message. You’ll also review the posting and choose a next step: apply, investigate or address a gap, or skip.

I’ll review 2 or 3 volunteer Proof Lines live. Every participant can submit one Proof Line within 48 hours after the workshop and receive written feedback within two business days of submission.

For professionals with 10+ years of experience who are applying but hearing little back. No free lesson required. You’ll leave with usable drafts. This workshop doesn’t rewrite your full resume or promise interviews.

What you’ll learn

Turn one project into clear application drafts, with guided writing time and individual feedback on your Proof Line.

  • Write one sentence showing what you did and what changed, using details you can support.

  • Draft a resume bullet, LinkedIn headline, and referral or reconnect message for your target role.

  • Compare one posting with your experience and constraints. Decide whether to apply, investigate a gap, or skip.

Workshop agenda

  • 1. Choose your project and review an example

Review a worked example, then identify your role, actions, and available evidence from one project.

  • 2. Write your Proof Line and resume bullet

Use the worksheet to explain what you did and what changed. Turn that sentence into a resume bullet using details you can support.

  • 3. Learn from live feedback

I’ll review 2 or 3 volunteer Proof Lines and explain the edits. Use the same checks to revise your own draft.

  • 4. Draft your headline and outreach message

Draft a LinkedIn headline aligned with your target role and a referral or reconnect message. Use your project evidence where relevant.

  • 5. Review your posting and choose a next step

Compare the posting with your experience and constraints. Choose whether to apply, investigate a gap or skip. Review how to submit your Proof Line for written feedback.
