FP&A Mastery Signature Program: 12-Month Professional Access

Carl Seidman

FP&A Advisor | Microsoft MVP in Excel

Experiential Learning for High-Achieving Finance & Accounting Professionals

FP&A is about making solid, defensible judgments even in the face of high stakes and ambiguity. A common misconception around these finance skills is that they’re something you either have or you don’t—and that they take many years to attain. But that’s not true.

In reality, you can significantly improve your financial planning & analysis (FP&A) influence, critical thinking, and strategic thinking ability by reframing your mindset and mastering a handful of core skills: business modeling, financial analysis, empathy and partnership, and effective communication.

The best FP&A professionals don’t think like analysts. They think like advisors. They’re higher-level thinkers who connect financial insights to what others care about and communicate with clarity and influence.

The FP&A Mastery Signature Program™ is a 12-month immersive experience featuring 8 comprehensive training series, weekly live virtual courses, and a full library of recordings, exercises, templates, models, and real-world examples. All year long, it elevates both your technical skills and the way you think about finance.

It's designed for high-achieving practitioners.

What you’ll learn

Master technical + strategic skills separating elite FP&A leaders from ordinary analysts, landing you better opportunities and visibility

  • Use robust Excel techniques to build flexible, scalable models, not basic and vulnerable spreadsheets

  • Design assumption-driven models that update cleanly and easily as inputs change

  • Reduce complexity while increasing analytical depth (an incredibly rare but extremely valuable skill)

  • Identify the most relevant variables that actually matter to performance and liquidity

  • Build two types of tools -- (1) comprehensive models, and (2) mini driver syntheses to answer “what if” questions in real time

  • Connect operating decisions to financial outcomes executives care about

  • Construct integrated cash flow, P&L, and balance-sheet forecasts that tie cleanly and hold up under scrutiny

  • Translate messy operational data into structured, auditable financial assumptions

  • Pressure-test scenarios and explain what really moves cash, not just earnings

  • Understand the accounting equations and translate accounting mechanics into forward-looking forecasts with ease

  • Model working capital roll-forwards (AR, AP, inventory, accruals) with confidence and discipline

  • Understand where forecasts often break and how to fix them, supporting leadership in their most important decisions

  • Explain financial results and forecasts in plain language without dumbing them down

  • Challenge assumptions constructively while staying commercially grounded in the reality of the business

  • Show up to meetings prepared to recommend and defend your work, not just report your findings

  • Trust your models because you built them from the ground up, know how they work, and can update them quickly and seamlessly

  • Know how to routinely spot errors, inconsistencies, and unrealistic assumptions

  • Learn the most current applications of Excel in finance, from 1 of ~35 U.S.-based Microsoft MVPs

Schedule

Live sessions

2 hrs / week

We meet live 1x per week. Each session is 2 hours with one 8-10 minutes break. We often have an extended Q&A at the end of each core learning session. Meetings are recorded for future review and reinforcement. In the event you miss a live session, the recordings are there for you to watch/listen to on your own time and at your own pace.

Reinforcement

1 hr / week

Live sessions are full of rich content, demonstrations, instruction, and exercises. While you are not required to complete projects on your own, you are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to revisit the working files and go through the files/exercises on your own time. This reinforces concepts and ensures that the learning sticks.

Asynchronous content

1 hr / week

All live sessions are recorded and uploaded, usually with 24 hours of the conclusion of the live session, for your continued access. Attendees of The FP&A Mastery Signature Program have access to 100+ hours of recorded learning, discussions, exercises, cases, and Q&A.
