Helping you find meaning from the work you do.
You've done everything right. Updated the resume. Practiced the interviews. Applied to dozens of openings. And you're still invisible. That's where I start. I don't fix what's obvious. I find what's missing.
The process begins with you, not them. Before you evaluate a single organization, you need to know what you stand for, what you refuse to compromise, and what your work has to mean for you to show up fully. Most people skip that step. That's why they keep landing in the wrong place. That's why only 32% of the workforce is engaged. Let's not be one of them. Let's do better.
Here's why I can help.
For 40 years I have had the task of moving past the symptoms of inefficient and ineffective systems to find and treat the real cause of the problems. From the engine room of an aircraft carrier, to the deck of a destroyer, to work in engineering and scientific consulting services companies, to the leadership challenges facing the FBI Academy, IBM, Johns Hopkins University, and many organizations in between, I've been finding what's missing and delivering the training to mitigate and fix it.
I am the author of the award-winning book Throttle Up: How to Accelerate the Impact of 21st Century Leadership, host of the Throttle Up Leadership Podcast and a certified Artificial Intelligence Management Professional. My most current effort, a field report titled Throttle Up from the Field, Volume 1: Canaries in the Coal Mine — The Workforce Crisis Gen Z Is Exposing, draws from Gallup, DDI, Edelman, 18 expert practitioner interviews and a host of other workforce related research to diagnose the three structural failures driving the worker disengagement crisis.
This Lightning Lesson is where your system begins. After all, Meaning is the New Money.
