Spot the AI Risks Your Risk Register Can't Catch

I've watched standards get adopted without anyone asking where they came from. No point applying one if you don't see why it exists. The real work is the debate over language, arguing how to reach the best outcome. Not a box ticked.

Risk is the same. It's not a paper exercise. In the real world it means harm, injury, sometimes death. We already know how to manage that kind of risk properly, in aviation, construction, medicine. AI is no different.

Part of my work is helping build a shared approach: buy into what already works, fix what's broken, everyone does better for it. I care about sharing what I've learned so good ideas gain ground, because AI governance stays needlessly frightening until someone sheds light on it.

Risk, like probability, deserves more than an emotional response.
