What you'll learn

How vector databases differ from each other

The tradeoffs different solutions make in scale, functionality, and performance

Features you don't realize you need until too late

Vector DBs are more than giant similarity machines -- learn what other features you need to build a robust application

Beyond vector to hybrid and full text

Learning to embrace decades of information retrieval when gathering context for your AI solutions

Why this topic matters

In AI context is king. And context doesn't exist without retrieval. But the type of retrieval, the features and functionality needed to make your app successful, matter a great deal. In this talk we'll cover vector databases, and what to look for when choosing a solution for your app. Including my opinions on what to look for and avoid. Note - the meeting is held on Roam not Zoom
