Matt Hutson helps teachers make student thinking visible
I’ve spent the past 15 years figuring out one question:
how do we help people become better learners, not just better test-takers?
That question has followed me from ESL classrooms to international schools in Indonesia, curriculum design work, online teaching, and now Washington Connections Academy.
Along the way, I earned an M.Ed., built BookMattic, launched Learning to Learn Well, and created The CARE Teaching Method and CARE Note-Taking Method.
I love turning big ideas about learning into practical tools teachers can actually use. My style is thoughtful, curious, and hands-on. I’m not interested in adding more educational noise. Rather, I want to help teachers design learning that makes student thinking visible and not disappear, building independence that leads to meaningful action.
