Manage to Lead is a learn-by-doing leadership discipline. Over ten weeks, your leadership team develops a shared understanding of what it seeks to accomplish, what it provides, what must change, and the few initiatives that matter most.

How you'll work

Between live sessions, your team develops its work in the IntelliVen Leadership Workspace. Beginning with the Mandate and WHAT-WHO-WHY, you'll build an Enterprise Change Framework, develop your highest-priority Initiatives, and turn them into Initiative Change Frameworks, Initiative to Action (I2A) plans, and governable implementation plans.

IVOA works alongside the team

Throughout the program, IVOA helps the team assess and suggest improvements, compare perspectives, consolidate ideas, infer from existing work, and continuously strengthen its thinking as the team's body of work grows.

What you’ll learn

  • Develop a clear Mandate and Enterprise Change Framework.

  • Clarify WHAT-WHO-WHY, your operating model, measures, priorities, ownership, and your case for change.

  • Use the IntelliVen Leadership Workspace and IVOA to assess, compare, consolidate, and strengthen the team's thinking as it evolves.

  • Reveal differences in assumptions, priorities, and perspectives before they become execution problems.

  • Use IVOA to assess work, compare viewpoints, consolidate contributions, and strengthen decisions.

  • Leave with a shared Mandate, WHAT-WHO-WHY, Enterprise Change Framework, and a small set of Initiatives your leadership team is ready to gove

  • Identify your operating model.

  • Map DO, SELL, and GROW to locate the constraint to growth or performance.

  • Identify opportunities to strengthen the system that matters most.

  • Select the vital few metrics, financial and nonfinancial, leading and lagging, tied to your operating model.

  • Build a one-page dashboard: results vs past, plan, and peers, with thresholds, trends, and the story it tells.

  • Set to compare actuals to projection; explain variances, note implications, capture lessons, and assign owners for next steps.

  • Select the few Initiatives that matter most.

  • Develop Initiative Change Frameworks, Initiative to Action (I2A) plans, and governable implementation plans.

  • Govern execution through Plan-Do-Review, supported by the Leadership Workspace and IVOA.

Live sessions

2 hrs / week

Live sessions bring leaders and their teams (3 to 7) together with peer teams to go deeper on each topic, role play real cases, and pressure test their MtL application. Get feedback from peers, instructors, and outside reviewers, and leave with clear next steps for your case.

Projects

1-3 hrs / week

After each module, work with your team and an assigned Principal Consultant to apply MtL to your case. Refine your Mandate, W-W-W, and ECF; set metrics; and select one initiative for outside review in the last session. Incorporate that input into your final submission for instructor feedback and completion award level.

Async content

1 hr / week

Plan for about 1 hour weekly: before each live session, read/watch short prep and do 40 minutes of sample and practice cases in Maven; after class, spend 20 minutes capturing lessons learned and drafting how you’ll apply them to your team’s case.
