Gabe Michael was an engaging and knowledgeable instructor, and it was genuinely valuable to hear how he approaches filmmaking and how he navigates the various AI platforms to realise his creative vision. His perspective on craft felt considered and authentic, which made the presentation section of the session worthwhile. The Q&A was a highlight. The open discussion allowed for a more meaningful exchange around both the craft of filmmaking and the real capabilities (and limits) of current AI tools. That depth of conversation is exactly what makes a session like this memorable. That said, the most significant gap in the session was the absence of a live demonstration. For a course centred on AI video creation, seeing the work in progress would have been transformative whether that meant walking us through how he builds and locks a character, taking a short script from prompt to scene, or showing a finished piece alongside the production decisions that shaped it. The "how" is where the real learning lives, and without it the session felt more like a talk about filmmaking with AI than a course on doing it. A structured demo, even a brief one would have made this session considerably more actionable.
