Strategist and past Stanford Instructor

After 15+ years of social media conditioning us to prioritize quantity of contacts (friends, followers, likes, views, etc.), the more impactful strategy is to invest energy in improving the quality of our connections.
Weak ties are connections that are more meaningful than your “network” but less intense and intimate than “relationships.”
Improving your weak ties is especially important for mid-career professionals whose work faces accelerating uncertainty. This session will help you apply years of research for fresh thinking, specific professional opportunities, and even feeling a little happier.
At the end of the workshop, you will have tools that help turn contacts into meaningful connections. You will have more confidence in engaging your network to offer support and to ask for help for with specific opportunities and general inspiration.
You will leave this session with a boost in energy and a plan for energizing your connections with the amazing people you have already met.
You'll learn how to strengthen connections with others in ways that are more meaningful than your “network” but not as deep as “friendship”
