I started as a teacher and spent the next decade moving through social media, community, customer advocacy, and customer success until I had sat at nearly every table the customer touches, which gave me a view of trust that most people working in a single function never get to see.

What I found is that trust isn't a feeling customers either have or don't have. It's a system, and like any system, it can be understood, designed, and broken down when the conditions aren't right. That question became my real work: the Customer Trust Equation, the founding of Customer Trust Infrastructure, and my award-winning book Transforming Customer-Brand Relationships (Kogan Page), with writing featured in Adweek, Forbes, and Campaign US.
