AI in the K-8 Classroom: Build Your Co-Teacher in 3 Weeks

Brandon Robert

K-8 Teachers: Build Your AI Co-Teacher

Stop prepping lessons from scratch. Get an AI co-teacher that knows your class.

K-8 teachers spend 50+ hours a week on prep, grading, and parent emails. AI tools cut that in half, but only if you know which tools to use, how to prompt them safely, and how to build a system that fits YOUR classroom. Generic AI training will not do it. What works is hands-on practice tailored to K-8 specifically.

This 3-week cohort is built by a working Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) who ships K-8 content and AI tools every week. You will tour 60+ AI tools (the ones actually worth your time), then build full workflows for lesson planning, year-long planning, grading, and differentiated workbooks. In Week 3, you will build YOUR own AI co-teacher: a Custom GPT, Claude Project, or Gemini Gem, running on your own LLM account. You leave with a working AI co-teacher you own forever. No platform lock-in.

This is not a lecture series. Every session is a hands-on build. By Day 1 of next term, you will have a co-teacher answering student questions in your voice, on your subject, with your safety rules. That is what changes when you take this course.

What you’ll learn

You leave with a deployed AI co-teacher on your own LLM, plus AI workflows for prep that save you 10+ hours every week.

  • Curated cheat sheet sorted by use case (planning, grading, image gen, video, quizzes, coding) with safety ratings for each tool.

  • Use AI to go from blank page to fully-built lesson plan with vocab, anchor activity, differentiated practice, and exit ticket.

  • AI workflows for annual planning that would take 40 hours by hand, with curriculum-aligned scaffolding for K-8 subjects.

  • Brisk Teaching plus rubric-driven AI feedback workflows you can apply Monday morning.

  • One template, multiple AI-generated versions calibrated to your student profiles.

  • Capstone: a Custom GPT, Claude Project, or Gemini Gem with your subject, your safety rules, and a QR code for your classroom.
