AI Prototyping Foundations for Designers

Anna Arteeva

Design Leader turned AI-Code Educator

Build functional prototypes with real data and AI-powered logic.

Designers who code used to be called unicorns. Now it's becoming the baseline, and the gap between those who can build and those who can't is widening fast.

The good news is that AI tools have changed what's possible. But the designers who get the most out of them aren't just prompting their way through UIs. They understand how apps actually work: components and architecture, dynamic data, APIs and AI logic. These foundations is what turns vibe-coding into a professional skill.

This course was built specifically for designers who want to close that gap. We go deep enough on frontend architecture, data, and AI functionality that you can make real decisions about tools, trade-offs, and what's worth building.

You'll be able to turn your designs into working web apps: styled to match your visual language, wired to real data, and powered by AI functionality.

  • A functional web app, styled to match your brand

  • Non-trivial logic and dynamic data.

  • Prototype AI features wired via APIs

  • Collaborate and handover via GitHub

  • ❤️ Lovable Pro is included

Workshop agenda

  • 10:00AM EDT

AI coding ecosystems and how the design process changes

Understand the AI coding tools (Lovable, Figma Make, v0, Claude Code, Cursor): how they differ, when to choose each, and how to combine them.

  • 10:30AM EDT

Prompting strategies: how to nail a great prompt (and does it matter?)

How to prompt effectively, what matters and what doesn't. You'll write your first prompts and start building.

  • 11:30AM EDT

Frontend basics: React, Tailwind, shadcn, and styling that holds up

Learn the building blocks every AI agent defaults to, why that's a good thing, and how to make your app match your brand using design tokens.

  • 12:30PM EDT

Wiring a database and AI API to prototype AI-powered experiences

Products aren't just visual interfaces anymore. We'll prototype multimodal AI experiences with natural conversation, voice, and vision.

  • 1:30AM EDT

Collaboration and handover via GitHub: the future of teamwork

When everyone builds, teamwork changes. Learn what shifts when you hand over code, not mockups.

Testimonials

  • At Flatpay, we already use AI daily to boost research, strategy, writing, and design. Anna Arteeva's AI & UX workshop at our Copenhagen HQ helped us take things further. PMs, designers, and engineers sharpened our AI skills and explored new ground: getting more impact from the tools we already rely on; expanding into AI prototyping, building on our existing designs and design system to deliver higher-fidelity results faster; exploring new UX paradigms like non-deterministic and agentic experiences; and building a shared mindset on how AI will shape the way we create for our merchants. We're raising the bar on how we collaborate with each other—and with AI—to deliver even more impact. Highly recommended.

  • I’m getting so much out of this course!!! I can’t even tell you! I’m making so much! I’m somewhat of a course junky, and I’ve never had a course so instantly providing value and clarity. Over night I’ve become the vibe code expert at my company (and we’re only partway through the course!

  • The AI Prototyping for Product Designers course is practical and valuable for anyone who wants to get started with “vibe coding” but isn’t sure where to begin. Each lecture starts with theory to build a solid foundation and then moves quickly into hands-on application in the chat-to-build platform Lovable. Other chat-to-build platforms are also covered, both in the materials and in discussions with other participants, but the course focuses on what Lovable is and how to use it effectively. Anna actively facilitates discussion, regularly checks what the group needs, and adapts parts of the course based on questions and feedback. For me, this course had real impact. It raised our approach within the Product Team to a new level: how we run discovery and how we build prototypes.

  • This class has been a game changer for me. It's brought me up to speed on things I didn't even know how to dive into, and has been a huge influence on my process. For the first time in several years, I'm excited about something new in the design process, and so many doors to experimentation, creativity and collaboration have been opened.

  • This course was genuinely inspiring. Seeing what tools like Lovable and Cursor can already do, especially from a designer’s perspective, really expanded how I think about building and prototyping. It definitely helps to have some technical understanding or even very basic experience with vibe coding, but it’s not a blocker at all. Even without that background, you can quickly get into an exploration mindset. What really makes this course stand out is Anna’s practical, actionable advice for designers. She bridges the gap between curiosity and real application, which makes the content immediately useful. I’d highly recommend it to any designer curious about working more closely with AI and modern tooling.
