Product Shipping with AI: From Idea to Real Users

Finish and launch your product

Build a tool you need at work, a service for your community, or a side project you want to finish.

We'll start with one useful task, build a small version with AI coding tools, and put it online. I'll help you decide what to leave out, what to fix before you share it, and where to find people who might try it.

I've spent six years running my own business and launching communities, courses, and products. In this course, I'll share what I learned in these six years as you work on your own product.

I'll review every submitted midterm and final project in group office hours. At each milestone, you'll also test three other participants' products and receive feedback on yours. You'll use the reviews to choose what to change next.

You'll practice building, sharing, and improving a product that other people can use. Customers and revenue aren't guaranteed.

What you’ll learn

Build and deploy your product with AI, get personal and peer feedback, and put it in front of people who might use it.

  • Choose who you're building for and one task your product will help them complete.

  • Write down what the first version needs to do, how you'll check it, and where you'll find testers.

  • Give the AI small tasks and the context it needs. Check the code it writes and test the main task.

  • Put your product online with basic tests and instructions for running it.

  • Help people understand what the product does, get started, and complete the main task.

  • Give reviewers free access, short test instructions, and questions you want their help answering.

  • Compare what testers did with what they said. Separate problems they found from requests for new features.

  • Choose what to fix first, test the changes, and explain what you changed.

  • Track whether people complete the main task and where they stop. Compare those results with their feedback.

  • Check errors, hosting costs, and service limits before you share the product more widely.

  • Find people who might need your product, explain what it does, and invite them to try it.

  • Record how people respond, what you learn from the launch, and what you'll try next.
