Controlled AI Workflow Lab for Finance

Albert Lee

Fellow CPA | Founder, Axiom FP&A

Build one AI workflow for your monthly reporting that you can rerun every cycle

In four weeks, you’ll take one recurring process, such as variance analysis or management reporting, and leave with a tested, documented workflow you can use again next month.

Maybe you've built a variance analysis with ChatGPT, drafted commentary in Copilot, or experimented with finance agents. But what happens when the source data changes, numbers don't reconcile, or someone else needs to run the process?

A useful AI output isn't the same as a reliable finance workflow.

In this four-week, hands-on lab, you'll choose one recurring finance process, such as variance analysis, management reporting, or forecasting; and build a working AI-assisted prototype.

You'll map data sources, structure inputs and outputs, add validation and exception tests, establish human approval controls, and document how to run the workflow again.

The outcome: One pilot-ready finance workflow you can demonstrate, test, review, and hand over; not just another set of AI prompts or slides.

No confidential company data or production integration required.

What you’ll learn

Leave with one tested, documented workflow: faster to produce, easier to review, and ready to rerun next cycle.

  • Identify the business problem, data sources, workflow steps, risks, and success criteria.

  • Create structured inputs and outputs for reporting, variance analysis, or forecasting.

  • Use deterministic methods for calculations and AI for interpretation, drafting, and analysis.

  • Design reconciliation checks, exception tests, source traceability, and error-handling rules.

  • Define review responsibilities, escalation triggers, and conditions that block unreliable outputs.

  • Deliver a tested, pilot-ready prototype with a handoff runbook and 30-day adoption plan.
