The app won't sell itself. Find your buyers and close without sounding salesy

You built an app or crafted together a service. You posted about it in three places and got two likes, one from a relative.

Or you reached out to a prospect who said "not right now" and you could not tell whether that meant no, later, or ask again.

Or you have a list of people who might buy this and no way to decide who to contact first.

Building got easier. Fitting what you built to real buyers did not: finding them, describing the product in words they already use, and working out what a "not right now" is saying.

This day treats sales as problem solving, a process builders already know how to run.

It goes in order: mindset first, then skills (asking questions, telling a story, deciding where your time goes, planning with accountability), then tools (account plans, call plans, and territory plans for choosing who to reach and what to say).

What you’ll learn

From a built app and no audience to a plan for finding buyers, pitching them, and handling objections

  • Map the communities and channels where your buyers already gather, and rank them for your project

  • Use an AI workflow to turn that map into an account list and a plan for who to contact first

  • Give a cold pitch at the start of the day, repeat it at the end, and compare the two

  • Rework your pitch with story and better questions, with written feedback from the group

  • Practice real objections in pairs and learn to hear the concern behind each "not right now"

  • Build a call plan for one real prospect with an AI workflow, so your next conversation is prepared

Workshop agenda

  • Welcome and how the day works [15 min, Amir]

Goals for the day and how exercises and feedback work. Each person names their project and who they think will buy it.

  • Baseline cold pitch [55 min, Mike]

Each person pitches their product to a buyer with no coaching, and the group writes feedback. This is the before that you compare against at the end of the day.

  • Mindset, questions, and where your buyers spend time [60 min, Mike]

Sales as problem solving and how to ask better questions. Then a mapping exercise: list the communities and channels where your buyers already are, with group feedback.

  • Lunch and learn: critique real sites and ads [40 min, Mike]

After a short framing on messaging, small groups review real landing pages and paid ads: who each is for, what it promises, and where it loses a buyer.

  • Handling "not right now" in pairs [50 min, Mike]

Pairs role-play objections from their own projects, then report back. Practice hearing the concern behind the answer and responding without getting defensive.

  • AI workflow: account list and territory plan [30 min, Amir]

Each student gets a workflow that turns their audience map into an account list and a plan for who to contact first. Solo work.

  • AI workflow: pitch and positioning rework [30 min, Amir]

A workflow rewrites your pitch using the lunch critique and the morning's questions, built around your own product and buyer. Solo work.

  • AI workflow: call plan and huddle [30 min, Amir]

Build a call plan for one real prospect, then a short group huddle before the closing pitches.

  • Closing pitch and written feedback [60 min, Amir]

Everyone repeats the opening pitch, in random order: one person starts and nominates the next. Everyone writes feedback for each presenter.

  • Debrief [15 min, Amir]

Compare before and after, why it changed, and what to practice next.
