 <h3>A breakthrough moment</h3>🎓 Reflection: Actionable AI for Marketers📊 Project: Reddit Brand Monitor and Sentiment Tool for Apartments<hr>My Aha MomentMy AHA MOMENT was when I realized I didn't actually know how to code to build some cool mvps. I can come up with a problem, scope it out and just start building. Working through the bugs are easy when you can just take it one step at a time. Goal: Automate Reddit monitoring instead of manual searching&nbsp;Result: Working system that scans for apartment brand mentions on city subreddits, classifies sentiment (positive/neutral/negative), and generates results🚧 Hurdles I Overcame1. Learning APIs from Scratch<ul class="list-disc ml-8"><li>Never worked with APIs before</li><li>Started small (1 post), then scaled to 200+</li><li>Used PRAW library to simplify Reddit integration</li></ul>2. Sentiment Analysis Accuracy<ul class="list-disc ml-8"><li>Sarcasm and short comments were tricky</li><li>Learned 75% accuracy is normal for social media text</li><li>AI flags items for human review, doesn't auto-respond</li></ul>3. Finding Historical Posts<ul class="list-disc ml-8"><li>Initial scan only found recent posts</li><li>Added keyword search mode to find mentions up to 1 year old</li><li>Now has both real-time and historical tracking</li></ul>4. Rate Limits<ul class="list-disc ml-8"><li>Reddit caps requests at 60-100/minute</li><li>Added delays (0.3s between requests) and error handling</li><li>Learned to work within platform constraints</li></ul>5. Making It User-Friendly<ul class="list-disc ml-8"><li>Technical jargon confused people</li><li>Created simple dashboard and CSV exports</li><li>Focused on what it does, not how it works</li></ul>
