Launch Your UX Writing Career in Six Weeks

Megan Jensen

Sr. UX Writer & Consultant in Tech

Break into UX writing with a repeatable process I've seen work again and again.

You’re good with words and love using language to solve problems, but breaking into UX writing still feels impossible, or at least far-fetched. Maybe you’ve sent out resumes with no response or are stuck at the “dream” stage. I’ve been there too.

I started as a journalist and worked across fundraising, marketing, and e-commerce before landing my first tech role. After reframing my transferable skills and story to resonate with hiring managers, I landed a contract at Etsy, Inc. Three months later, I was promoted to Senior UX Copywriter.

Since then, I’ve built UX content foundations at a Fortune 500, served on hiring panels, and now focus on UX content consulting and helping others pivot.

I've created a repeatable process for breaking into UX writing that has to be shared. Everything changes when you learn it, too. [Read the student story in the next section.]

As someone who has been on both sides of the hiring table, I know exactly what makes candidates stand out. Break through the noise with feedback and support in a safe space for growth alongside peers just as motivated as you are to make this career-changing pivot. Remember: Luck is when preparation meets opportunity. Be prepared!

What you’ll learn

Leave with a polished portfolio piece, tailored resume, and interview insights so you can stop settling and pivot into a UX writing career!

  • It worked for a student in my very first cohort. She came in as a technical writer, telling herself after tough rejections that...

  • ... her current role was “close enough”. By course's end, armed with more confidence, a focused portfolio and a clear interview framework...

  • ... she landed her first UX role for a major player in the e-commerce space! Now, it’s your turn to prepare for your opportunity!

  • Save the time I spent DIYing! Grab the winning strategy I used to highlight my transferable skills, polish my portfolio & create my resume.

  • Packed with how-to videos and ready-to-replicate templates, including a PDF of my current resume and advice from an expert resume writer!

  • Get actionable insights on your portfolio, resume, and LinkedIn sure to stop their scroll. Stand out to recruiters, even without a website!

  • Once in the room, nail your next interview with a framework that positions you as the solution to their problems.

  • Work directly in Figma. Get a vital perspective on key issues like voice & tone, accessibility, and tying your work back to business goals.

  • Master the terminology, tools, and cross-functional partner knowledge you need on the job. Then take action with a 90-day plan post-course!

  • Conquer your inner critic with new ways of thinking and talking about yourself. Using your new knowledge of what's possible, you'll...

  • ... make bold moves like sending that LinkedIn connect request or replying to an auto-rejection (one of my students got a job that way).

  • Take inspired action alongside motivated people like you with direct support and feedback from me! From making connections in #channels...

  • ... to attending my (optional) LIVE office hours every Friday. Complete this self-paced course with the class or as it fits your schedule.
