TAI Labs - We Train the AI-Native Workforce.

TAI Labs is led by two founders who build and ship AI for a living. Aki Wijesundara, PhD, is an AI researcher and educator, a Google AI Accelerator alum and Senior AI Advisor to the United Nations, who has taught 10,000+ professionals to design and deploy production AI.

Manu Jayawardana is an exited AI founder (Rise AI, 35,000+ users), Co-Founder and CEO of TAI Labs, an NVIDIA Inception voice-AI startup, and Co-Founder of Snapdrum, where he builds production AI for Fortune 500s and YC startups. Together they pair research depth with real-world execution, so every course, workshop and service is taught by people who do this work, not just teach it.

This course should be a prereq for anyone building or commenting on AI in public. The rich course material, excellent instruction, interesting conversations with fellow students, and shipping an AI product every week for the last month and a half have massively leveled up my skills. As a researcher and product person who builds, I can now talk about the process and challenges of production-scale AI development, and I can deliver. This is how you learn AI engineering!

The AI Engineering Bootcamp has been an incredibly valuable learning experience. What stood out most was the strong balance between learning core AI concepts and actually building with them. Working hands-on with RAG, agents, LLMs, and real-world architecture helped turn concepts that initially felt complex into something practical and tangible. The cohort environment made the experience even stronger—there was a genuine sense of learning together, experimenting, and pushing beyond our comfort zones. I’m walking away not just with new technical skills, but with a much stronger understanding of how to think about and architect AI solutions in the real world. Highly recommended for anyone looking to move from understanding AI to actually building with it.

This course perfectly moved me from creating prototypes to building and deploying agents for production. This was the first course work that helped me to fully transition to working from Claude Code's CLI (it's the way to live, if you're serious about building). The stack (FastAPI, Render, Streamlit, LangGraph, pgvector) will make you hit real production problems and figure out how to solve them. It was humbling to grasp the chasm between what I've done quickly (e.g. n8n) vs. how things need to be built for real.

It was a high-level and challenging course. It's good to have some prior knowledge of the concepts covered in this course, which will be helpful for new joiners. Overall, I learned a lot, especially a production-level understanding of shipping and deployment, as well as the expectations in real-world scenarios.

Aki makes hard AI concepts easy to learn. Instead of boring memorization, he focuses on actually building products. Thanks to this hands-on approach, I successfully built a working AI memory coach app. Highly recommend!
