At some point in the last year, someone handed you an AI tool and told you it would make you faster. Nobody talked to you about what it would do to your thinking. If part of you has been uneasy about that, this session is for you, and the unease is correct.

What this session is

Human in the Lead is a two-hour live working session for professionals who use AI at work and want to stay good at their jobs while doing it. It makes the Judgement Gap, the measurable distance between confident AI use and competent AI use, visible in your own practice, explains why it develops, and gives you a working practice for keeping your judgement in charge from your next working day.

It is not a tools session. No AI tool is opened in the two hours, and that is deliberate. Prompting techniques are everywhere and cheap. What is scarce is the thinking that comes before the prompt, and that is where your judgement either takes the lead or hands it over.

Who it's for

Knowledge workers who have been issued AI tools by their employer, use them regularly, and are quietly uneasy about what that use is doing to their thinking and their craft. You are not resistant and you are not a beginner. You are fluent enough to be at risk, which is precisely the group nobody is training.

What you'll do in the two hours

You'll take a private calibration self-check that shows you where your own feedback loops have gone quiet. You'll write the three judgements in your role that must never be delegated, the calls that carry your name whatever produced the work. And you'll learn and apply an orientation practice, four questions answered before you open any tool, on a real task from your own current week. This is a working session: you leave with your own answers, not mine.

What you leave with

A name for the thing you came in feeling. Evidence of your own calibration. Your three judgements, written and spoken aloud. A practice you can apply to every task from tomorrow. And one specific commitment for the week ahead, because the Judgement Gap narrows the same way it widens: through practice.

How it runs

Live online, capped at 20, because this is a working session, not a webinar. Cameras encouraged, not required. No recordings, and nothing you write is collected or shared. You'll receive a workbook in advance and a follow-up from me a week later.
