Level up the impact of your UX research

Ruby Pryor

Founder at Rex. ex-BCG, ex-Grab.

Transform the way you communicate your insights to stakeholders.

In this course I share everything I've learned about how to write with impact that I've learned in a 10+ year career that spanned management consulting, big tech and founding my own UX research agency. I created this course because I believe that good ideas need good communication to thrive. Writing is an essential skill for anyone who works in any organisation from the smallest agile startup all the way through to the biggest publicly listed corporate organisation.

Being able to align stakeholders around your ideas, your vision, your insights, and your recommendations is an absolutely critical skill for anyone who works with customer insights. I believe that this is a skill that can be taught and can be improved. Many of us go for long stretches in our career, focusing on other more technical skills. But writing is a critical, foundational skill that can and will increase your influence inside and outside your organisation.

What youโ€™ll learn

Turn customer research into clear, powerful deliverables that drive action.

  • How to focus on the 'why' behind the data, not just the 'what'.

  • How to create more actionable insights by linking to business goals.

  • A framework to understand the 4 levels of impact UX research makes and the types of metrics UX research influences.

  • How to leverage existing frameworks to bring rigour and depth to your UX research practice.

  • How to create your own frameworks such as hierarchies and 2 x 2 matrices.

  • The tools to break down complex information into clear sections, guiding your audience through a logical story structure.

  • Techniques to highlight key takeaways upfront in executive summaries to ensure your audience is aligned on your key takeaways.

  • How you can use concise, result-driven language to demonstrate the tangible impact of your work.

  • A framework to summarise complex projects into 150 words or less.

  • Templates of a report, presentation and executive summary

  • Sample completed deliverables so you can see how to apply the theory in a concrete way

  • A quiz every week to complete in your own time to assess your learning

  • Weekly activities where you practice writing your own insights, developing frameworks and outlining the storyline of a deliverable.
