Why this topic matters

After thousands of conversations with designers, I’ve seen the same hidden patterns that stall careers, no matter the role or level. These patterns aren’t obvious, but they quietly shape how designers grow, or why they don’t. Understanding them can give you clarity about what’s holding you back and how to move forward with purpose.

You'll learn from

Mindaugas Petrutis

Founder at Coho (ex-On Deck, InVision, Design Recruiter)

Founder of Coho with 10+ years of experience building communities for designers.

I’ve spent the last decade connecting thousands of designers globally, helping them navigate career challenges and leadership transitions. At InVision, I led community efforts across EMEA and supported the Design Leadership Forum, creating spaces for senior design leaders to collaborate on their toughest challenges. At On Deck, I launched the Design Fellowship, helping experienced designers grow as leaders and build stronger teams.

Now, as founder of Coho, I’m building the next evolution of professional networks: a platform that brings small, curated peer groups together to solve the most complex career challenges. My work is grounded in years of conversations with designers at every level, turning insights into practical tools for growth. Students in this session will learn from real-world patterns I’ve observed over thousands of these conversations.
