Why this topic matters

I spent years believing expertise alone would open doors. It didn't. The biggest opportunities came when I learned to think strategically, beyond my role: framing business problems, asking better questions, and connecting strategy to execution. That shift changed my career, and in this session, I'll show you how you can begin developing the same strategic mindset.

Founder Capacity Strategist | Organizational Transformation & Growth Advisor

For much of my career, I believed professional growth came from working harder, earning more credentials, and becoming exceptionally good at my functional role. Like many professionals, I thought expertise alone would create opportunity.

Over time, I discovered something that changed the way I approached my career.

The people who were trusted with the biggest challenges were not always the ones with the most impressive titles or the deepest technical expertise. They were the people who could step back, see the bigger picture, ask better questions, connect ideas across disciplines, and help leaders make better decisions. They understood businesses as systems, not just departments. That realization fundamentally changed how I learned, how I worked, and ultimately what I chose to teach.

Since then, my work has centered on helping leaders, professionals, and organizations build the capacity to solve meaningful business problems. I have worked across human resources, organizational transformation, workforce strategy, leadership development, executive advisory, and founder-led businesses, always with one belief at the center of my work: better thinking leads to better organizations.

Today I lead Bavarde Group, a management consulting firm that helps organizations build the capacity to grow, adapt, and execute strategy more effectively. I also founded VSAcademy, where we develop professionals into strategic business partners who solve business problems, create measurable value, and contribute beyond their job descriptions.

My work spans organizational transformation, workforce strategy, leadership development, founder growth, executive advisory, and strategic capability development. Beyond consulting and education, I share practical insights on strategy, leadership, and organizational growth with a community of more than 36,000 people across LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, and my newsletter.

My perspectives have been shaped by both practice and continuous learning. I have completed executive education through Harvard Business School, served as a member of the Harvard Business Review Advisory Council, Forbes Business Council, and ForbesBLK, contributed to workplace and leadership research with Featured, McLean & Company, and earned recognition as a NASA IDEA Practitioner. My work has also included advisory and organizational transformation engagements with organizations such as the Metropolitan Council, alongside leadership roles spanning healthcare, manufacturing, higher education, and founder-led businesses.

Beyond consulting, I am committed to strengthening leadership and workforce capability at the community level. I currently serve on the Washington County Workforce Development Board and the Community Development Block Grant Advisory Committee, contributing to initiatives that support workforce development, economic opportunity, and community growth.

Everything I teach is grounded in one philosophy: strategic thinking is not reserved for people with "strategy" in their job title. It is a professional capability that can be developed, practiced, and applied by anyone who wants to solve bigger problems, influence better decisions, and create lasting impact.

Whether I'm teaching founders, executives, career professionals, or leadership teams, my goal is always the same: to help people think more clearly, build greater capacity, and create lasting impact. Because when the way you think changes, the way you lead, solve problems, and create value changes too.
