What you'll learn

Why your APIs should start with stories, not specs

Humans work around a wrong API. Agents just fail. Capture the real need before anything ships.

How to turn requirements into an API Story

Write the five story parts from requirements you already own, and hand AI something worth building.

How to hold AI to your company standards

Generate specs, docs, and prototypes that follow your standards instead of the model's habits.

Which design decisions you should never delegate

Anyone can generate an API now. Learn where you stay in the loop so what ships is safe and usable.

Why this topic matters

AI makes it easy to generate an API and ship it. It's just as easy to ship the wrong one: unsafe, unusable, or solving no real need. API design authority Mike Amundsen joins me to show where AI-ready APIs come from: stories. You'll learn to turn your requirements into API Stories, hold AI to your standards, and keep the judgment that stops a bad API from reaching your users, human or agent.

Emmanuel Paraskakis

3x VP Product (Apiary, Swagger, Oracle) | 1.3M APIs | Founder, Level 250 | Agent-ready APIs & MCP

I’m Emmanuel, 3x VP Product, now a founder at Level 250.

If you built or used APIs in the past 15 years, chances are you’ve used one of my products:

I’ve led some of the most influential API tools: Apiary (550,000+ APIs), Swagger (750,000+ APIs) and Oracle’s first Cloud-Native API Gateway. Before that, I built large B2B API programs at Verisk, Moody’s, and Precisely.

Today, I advise Fortune 500 CEOs and AI-forward startup founders on API Strategy, Developer Experience, MCP products, and AI agent readiness.

I'm also a member of OpenAPI and a featured speaker at apidays and other global technology conferences.

My passion is helping others build products, which is why I also teach on Maven: to share my lessons learned and help Product Managers and Engineers fast-track their careers.
