Ex-NASA - Co-creator of Air, Two Scoops of Django, Cookiecutter-Django

Daniel Roy Greenfeld (aka “pydanny”) is co-creator and project leader of Air, the new Python web framework powered by FastAPI, Starlette, and HTMX. Daniel is a seasoned software engineer, author, and speaker with 28 years of professional experience. He is best known as co-authoring the Two Scoops of Django series with his wife, Audrey Roy Greenfeld. A long-time open source contributor, he is the creator or co-creator of numerous open-source tools, including Django Packages, Cookiecutter-Django, django-crispy-forms, and has submitted code to hundreds of packages over the years. He has worked at NASA, Kraken Technologies, and Answer AI - an AI research lab. He is father to a happy 6-year-old daughter named Uma, who shares his love for documentaries and Mark Rober videos.

Isaac is an independent consultant who has helped many companies incorporate AI into their products. I created MonsterUI and have made many contributions to FastHTML and am a core contributor to air. Previously, I worked in several successful AI labs, including Novetta and Answer AI.
