Why this topic matters

For recruiters, people operations leaders, and human resources leaders, AI can take a lot of the busywork off your plate: writing job posts, making onboarding checklists, summarizing meetings, and more. This workshop will show you how to use it in simple, useful ways so you can save time, get organized, and focus on the parts of your job that actually need your brain.

You'll learn from

Kendall Oseland

Startup hiring & ops veteran who loves using AI to save time and stress

I’m Kendall Oseland. I’ve worked in recruiting and People Ops for about 10 years, mostly with startups and SaaS companies. I’ve done a little bit of everything: hiring, onboarding, writing job descriptions, virtual back-office operations, helping teams get organized with project management tools, and making sure the behind-the-scenes stuff actually works.

Over time, I started using AI tools to make the more repetitive parts of my job easier. Not in a futuristic, tech-wizard way, but more like: “Can this help me get a rough draft going faster?” or “Can it clean up this doc so I don’t have to rewrite it from scratch?” Turns out, it can.

I don’t think you need to be technical to use AI well. You just need to know how to talk to it and where it fits in your actual day-to-day work. In this workshop, I’ll walk through some real examples of how I use tools like ChatGPT, from writing onboarding plans and interview guides to refining messy meeting notes and processing survey results. Most of it is prompting, editing, and reworking until it’s useful.

My goal is to make this feel doable and honest, not like you need to automate everything, but that you can save time and reduce friction with the right kind of help. If you work in ops, HR, or recruiting, and want to see how this actually fits into a workflow, I’ll show you how I’ve made it part of mine.
