You built something of your own: a company, a practice, a business with your name on it. Now AI is changing the ground under it faster than you can think it through alone. There’s no leadership team to test ideas against, no Chief of Staff to pull the research, and no budget for a full engagement. You want an hour with someone who has been where you are and done the work.
This is a fit if you:
Run a small company, studio or independent practice and are deciding where AI fits, where it doesn’t, or how to advise clients who are navigating these questions.
Are rethinking your role, your offer or your pricing because clients now expect AI-level speed
Are deciding whether to hire, use contractors or let AI handle the work
Are going fractional or independent, or recently did, and want a seasoned sounding board
Want direct, practical advice on one specific question rather than a course or a program
I’ve been in your seat. I co-founded a startup and grew it from an idea to an acquisition, and I’ve advised dozens of organizations, ranging from early-stage startups to established companies. I know how to roadmap big ideas and scale, often with a small team and a short runway.

If you want a finished structure for a fractional offer, see Fractional Engagement Design.
If your company is paying, book the Leaders session, which adds a materials review and a written summary.
60 focused minutes on how AI changes your role, offer, strategy, pricing or team.
Direct advice from someone who has built companies, gone independent and advised founders and organizations through the same choices.
Your next steps: we close the session by naming the two or three moves to make this month, and you write them down in your own words.
Why it matters: working alone, you rarely get an experienced outside view without paying for an engagement. This is that view, focused on the decision you’re actually making.

One of several frameworks upon which HAA is based, answering what to delegate to AI vs humans.
Book your session. Choose a time that works for you. All sessions are held virtually.
Complete the short intake. Tell me what you do, where you are in your business, and the question you want to work on.
Optional: send anything useful 48 hours ahead. This could be your offer, your pricing, your site or a draft plan.
Meet for 60 minutes. We work through your question directly.
Leave with your next steps. We close by naming the two or three moves to make this month.
I’ve spent my career where a new technology meets the people expected to absorb it.
In 2005 I co-founded BlogHer, when blogging was still new and social media norms untrusted and untested. We built frameworks for trustworthy engagement, which I've done with emerging tech ever since. I’ve led global marketing teams at AWS and ConsenSys (blockchain), and in 2024 I co-founded Optionality, a community for experienced professionals exploring new models for work and meaningful careers. I started my career in traditional media (Time Inc, The New York Times Syndicate, Penguin), writing for national publications such as Fast Company and Inc.
Today, through my advisory practice Candor Partners, I work with leaders on a problem I call structural lag: Organizations deploy AI faster than their people and institutions are ready to absorb it. Human Agency Architecture (HAA) is the framework I built to close that gap. It gives leaders a practical way to decide what AI should handle, what people must keep deciding, and how to protect the judgment and development their organizations depend on.
I also convene the AI Operators Exchange, a private working group of senior enterprise operators, and I advise AI organizations on Narrative Positioning and GTM.
