I will give you a real read of the story your resume tells on six different vectors, with actionable feedback on what works, what blurs your signal, and what to change. You will get this feedback within 2 business days of your submission via the email you use to register for this service.
Your resume will be assessed on:
Overall Throughline — Does your resume tell one coherent story from top to bottom, or does it read like a collection of jobs?
Strategic Gaps — Are there missing experiences, unexplained transitions, or silent periods that interrupt the thread?
Positioning Clarity — Is it immediately obvious what role you're built for, or does a hiring manager have to work to figure out where you fit?
Unique Value Proposition — Can someone read your resume and articulate what makes you different from the other qualified candidates?
Evidence Alignment — Does the evidence in your work history actually support the story your summary is trying to tell?
Narrative Coherence — Do the pieces of your career add up to something intentional, or does it feel like a series of unrelated chapters?
You will receive recommendations to elevate your narrative and strengthen your resume. and a summary of the assessment.
This assessment will NOT tell you what your story should be; it will interpret the story your resume currently tells and offer feedback on how to make it clearer and more effective.
Note: If the throughline in your current resume is NOT the story you intend to tell, the recommendations you receive will not tell you how to change the story; this assessment is only designed to interpret and amplify the current positioning.
I have built teams across all levels and functions at Apple, Amazon, T-Mobile, Discovery Networks, and Best Buy. I have read thousands of resumes. I know what makes a hiring manager stop and pay attention.
I also teach story-thinking as a creative thinking technique in my Maven course. And it's important your resume tells the story you want. To make it cohesive, impactful, and intentional, you need to pivot from listing skills and job responsibilities to telling a compelling narrative that sparks action.
If there are two candidates with the same skillset or experience, what about your story will make someone choose you?
Summary statements at the top of a resume help shape positioning, but they still need to be supported by evidence in the work history.
If you are using AI to match your resume to job descriptions, you likely have lost your throughline. It prioritizes aligning language over building a coherent story and can result in "sameness". Keywords are important, but they don't help differentiate you.
A résumé that makes it through the ATS filter may tell the recruiter or hiring manager that you have the capability to do the job, but it may not tell them how you will show up on the job.
Make sure your resume tells the story you intend it to.
This is for you if you've spent hours tailoring your resume to job descriptions and still aren't getting callbacks.
This is for you if you know your resume could be stronger but you can't see it clearly anymore
