Hi! I’m Coen. I’ve worked at Amazon for more than 13 years and led teams for across supply chain, operations, marketplace and environmental compliance.

I’m also a Bar Raiser. I’ve conducted more than 800 interviews, over 200 of them as Bar Raiser, so I’ve sat on the other side of the table far more often than most candidates ever will.

What I’ve seen in those rooms is that strong candidates rarely fail on experience. They fail on how they present it. Too much time on context. Results that never land. Stories with no real decision in them. The experience is there, but the interviewer can’t see it.

That’s what I fix. I help people in non-engineering roles at big tech and high-growth companies turn their experience into stories that land, so they pass the interviews they should be winning.

How I work

Every story is built in nine elements: Situation, Task, Action and Result, plus key data points, timeline, stakeholders, decisions made and lessons learned. I call it STAR+5.

We work in three steps, in order:

1. Get every story down in STAR+5. Short and rough, but complete.

2. Edit each one into a full script.

3. Practise delivering it, including the follow-up questions.

Most people stall because they try to do all three at once, on one story. Taking the steps in order is what gets you to a full story bank that you can deliver during the day.

Services

1:1 coaching session
60 minutes on your own stories. I’ll tell you what the interview will be like and how your answers come across from the interviewer’s side. Send me your preparation at least 4 hours before and I’ll spend time reading it before our session. Afterwards you get a follow-up note with the key points and what to work on next.

Practical details

Sessions run on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, from 21:00 CET. You can reschedule up to 4 hours before your session starts.
