Rachel Kobetz is the Chief Design Officer of PayPal. Her ability to shape product cultures that humanize technology and forge meaningful connections between products and consumers has made her a sought-out operator, indispensable advisor, and industry thought leader. Previously, Rachel held prominent leadership positions at Expedia Group, Bank of America, Amazon, and Samsung.


Rachel is the founder of Design Leadership at Scale, a Founding Member of the Design Leaders Community, board member for the Fast Company Executive Board, and ADC Jury Member for The One Club For Creativity. She also writes the influential newsletter Defining Experience, providing insights and actionable ideas about design leadership, experience-led culture, emerging technology, and the future of work.

Kristin has made it her mission to make organizations more effective. 


As a design executive and globally recognized expert on organization design, management, and operations, Kristin has designed and executed organizational transformations in her executive leadership roles at Expedia Group, Chase, Capital One, Adaptive Path, and Microsoft.


In 2017, Kristin founded &GSD, a customer experience consultancy, that addresses the common problems many organizations face – organization design, scale, and the resulting change management – and has advised executive leaders at Nike, Grab, Adobe, Zendesk, Airbnb, Netflix, Disney, SK Telecom, USAA, Wells Fargo, Grubhub, and the country of Ireland. 


Kristin is a frequent global conference keynoter, panelist, and workshop leader. As a community builder, she co-created the DesignOps Summit series and led curation for its first five years.
