With vibe code, anyone can now create working code, for free. We need to ask: who is this for, what problem does it solve, and why does it work like that? They're design questions. Designers give software a human purpose. Conversation designers are adept at designing solutions to human needs - vibe code enables you to lead with design.
In this course we'll learn together to build functional software with generative AI:
- You'll learn prompting and vibe coding techniques
- During live collaborative sessions you'll build prototypes and tools to improve your workflows
- You'll also learn how to document your vibe coded software properly to keep the momentum going when you have a validated prototype
- You won't need to learn how to write code

What you’ll learn
Using generative AI, we'll build working software together: prototypes and tools to supercharge your workflows
The basic chatbot will have a master prompt with business focus, persona, tasks that you define and RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation)
You will have the option to add voice input and TTS output
Using vibe code, you'll modify the chatbot's features, appearance and behaviour to your needs
We'll build a tool that lets you make and modify prompt chains to give structure to AI's processes
The first configuration will assess accessibility
Then you can modify the prompt chain to systematically work through any problem
Everybody struggles to keep their prompts organised - we'll make a tool that solves that
The tool can be customised to fit your needs exactly
You'll have a tool to work directly with prompts, which will integrate directly with an engineer's prompt database
Vibe code lets you build a lot, and fast! This creates a new challenge - you need to log the 'why' behind the code before you forget it
We'll create a vibe code diary tool that you can customise to your needs
This is your new portfolio! It's a gallery of your creations with the rationale behind each of them

You have used ChatGPT (or other LLMs)
If you've used ChatGPT, then other LLMs feel the same. We'll use Gemini and Claude for this course because they write great code
You can name the components of software
You don't need to be a coder, but you should be able to recognise common software components such as file types and interface types
