Melanie Moeller

Melanie brings over 13 years of innovation and tech transformation experience. She has delivered pioneering solutions such as the BBC's EU Referendum results coverage across all editions of the BBC News website and apps, reaching 35.5 million daily active users, and was involved in the creation of the first responsive BBC iPlayer. Additionally, Mel has worked with AI for the last decade. She played a key role in internationalising Sky's NOW TV streaming service, which uses AI for content personalisation and dynamic offers. Mel has also used AI and machine learning when developing early prototypes of Sky Glass. Her work has led to the TV's seamless user interface and cutting edge modes of user interactions. Mel established Sky’s Technology Innovation function and led on AI prototypes, some of which went on to drive significant transformation, such as reducing churn for Sky's broadband business. Her latest venture, GenFutures Lab, is at the forefront of generative AI consultancy, while her startup, Powerful You AI, leverages Large Language Models to democratise political insights.

Alain Bindels

Alain is an experienced Health Tech Innovation Strategist with global international experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He supports companies in achieving their digital strategy and growing their business by creating a good product market fit. Currently he is managing partner for Europe at U+ Digital Ventures, supporting companies building new digital ventures. He has led innovation efforts at F.Hoffmann-La Roche for more than 14 years focusing on future healthcare technologies and establishing partnerships with Health Tech partners. He has extensive experience in digital transformation, culture change and managing innovation accelerator programs incl. collaborations with digital health startups. He has mentored multiple digital health ventures across the value chain of healthcare from early diagnosis to postmarketing support and patient engagement. He has lead and implemented the first Digital Innovation Lab at Roche, which is now a successful network of innovation labs across the world. He works very closely with the innovation ecosystem to build connections with universities, industry and healthtech partners, startups and investors. In addition Alain has mentored multiple startups and has been part of multiple healthtech accelerator programs (incl. The Vertical Board for Health & Wellbeing from Kickstart Innovation)
