Course overview
You don't master Web3 by reading about Web3.
You master it by using Web3.
Doing > Reading
In this course you will focus on learning and doing on Web3.
You will learn about wallets and you will become a proficient user of wallets on different blockchains - Bitcoin, Ethereum, Stacks, Polygon, Arbitrum and Optimism.
You will learn about and use different DeFi applications
01
You have heard a lot about the web3 revolution but you are not sure where and how to start since the concepts of web3 seem so alien
02
You want to diversify your assets to include crypto and need help understanding how to get started on researching and trading crypto assets.
03
You want to create web3 solutions but want help with starting and want straight answers about what is practical and what is not with web3.
Hands-on experience with the top blockchains
Understand the fundamental concepts of Bitcoin and Ethereum. You will also learn to use wallets on these blockchains to execute different types of transactions. You will leave with a hands-on understanding of how to use these and similar blockchains.
Practical experience with Layer 2 blockchains
You will learn about the shortcomings of Bitcoin and Ethereum. You will then use Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon and Stacks blockchains to experience how these shortcomings are being addressed. With this you are now ready to dive into the world of Decentralized Finance (DeFi).
Decentralized Finance (DeFi) applications concepts and hands-on experience
Understand the basic concepts of DeFi. These use cases are about stablecoins, about borrowing and lending crypto assets and about swapping tokens on decentralized exchanges. You will leave with hands-on experience with swapping tokens on some of these blockchains

First Module - Blockchains
In the first module I will look at the following blockchains with hands-on exercises for each focused on using the wallets to start. You will then be able to do the same yourselves. No programming background is required.
03
Second Module - Advanced blockchains
Bitcoin and Ethereum are widely used and mature blockchains. However, these have some shortcomings that are being addressed in so called Layer 2 blockchains such as Arbitrum, Optimism and Polygon on Ethereum. Stacks is a chain that addresses this on Bitcoin. In this module you will learn about these advanced blockchains and how to use them
04
Third Module - DeFi Basics
I will focus on DeFi solutions using the above blockchains. I will explain the concepts and then have you perform actual transactions using some of these DeFi applications. You will leave will a knowledge of how to
1) buy stablecoins
2) swap tokens
Tokens needed for the above exercises will be provided to you if requested.
