Chidi is THE Product Missionary people always write about. Passionate, dedicated, and fiery, but with a deep well of care, understanding, and empathy. He somehow walks the line between being a sage philosopher and a GSD master. He's been in the trenches and he won't hesitate to hop back in them with you--he's a treasured Product Sensei.

I've learned more from Chidi about businees opportunities because of the lens of product development that he is so passionate about. He applies the framework & teaches you how to apply the framework, so that whatever business opportunity you're passionate about becomes invigorated & inspired by products & services developed with the right approach.

Meet your instructor

Chidi Afulezi

Chidi Afulezi

A close mentor shared this mantra with me: product building is messy, but product building is also simple.

My work is infused with this mantra and is at the core of why I am offering this course. Simplifying the process of landing on real customer-impacting problems to solve is a key expertise that I have developed over the course of my career.

I am a business owner and product guy. I am an educator and a founder/product coach. I come in multiple flavors—managing principal for redKola Digital (product consultancy); managing partner at theZVG (comms products agency); founder of aKoma Media, Rouse Media, and The Core Venture Studio; teach product at General Assembly, African Leadership University School of Business, and UC Berkeley Haas School of Business.

As I said, lots of flavors.

Prior to the wild life of a founder, I served in an assortment of engineering and product leadership roles at AT&T, Sony Music, Time Warner, CNN, and Turner Broadcasting.

Schooled at NYU, came out with degrees in Math and Electrical Engineering. Went back after a while and got an MBA too. No more degrees, please.

I look forward to rolling with you in this part of your product journey. Let's do this!

When you first land on the problem, you have done so from a certain perspective. But is that the only perspective? Learn how to reframe the problem using testing and customer discovery techniques.

Jobs To Be Done

Customers hire your product to perform a task, to do a job. The hiring process could be for a job that is functional, or emotional. Learn how to use the JBTD canvas to hone in on which aspect of the problem you should be focused on solving.
