Course overview
Chapter 1: Networking Foundations Playbook
The best networking activities in your city (or online) are often like the top job opportunities: Firstly, they’re not being advertised, and secondly, you have the power to create them yourself. Get yourself into the right rooms and ensure you have everything you need – a goal, a digital profile, a why, etc. – before you head out.
Chapter 2: Confident Conversations Blueprint
What you can ask someone instead of, “What do you do?” How do you approach a group of people already in a conversation? There’s a trick for how to share your work, expertise, or a current project with a whole room even when you’re not a speaker. Once you learn these conversation and communication tactics, your approach to event networking will be changed forever.
Chapter 3: High-Impact Activities Framework
If you believe the idiom that “your network is your net worth” then what you should aim for is a network that grows in size and value over time, even when you’re not actively engaging it. Everyone’s heard of compound interest and passive income. Find out how you can leverage those concepts when deciding what relationship-building activities to focus on, now and in the future.
01
Executives who, however successful, know they can elevate their business if they refine their personal and professional pitch.
02
Skilled professionals missing out on opportunities because they can’t articulate their goals to strangers.
03
Mid-career jobseekers or students new to a community or an industry who want to be taken seriously.
How to set yourself up to find (or create) the best networking opportunities
Who are you, and what – or who – are you looking for? Once that’s established, we’ll create a game plan to identify and uncover social and business engagements that will actually bring you value.
How to start, navigate, and end conversations that count
Learn the modern rules of talking to people. Learn the failsafe frameworks for engaging in effective conversations with potential collaborators, executives, prospects, and peers – both in person and online.
Activities to invest in now that will have the biggest return later
Events, writing, speaking, social media, volunteering… where should you spend your time? We’ll deconstruct the profiles of professionals whose past activities yield ongoing inbound interest. It’s time to grow your network while you sleep.
