Originally a licensed architect, Laura’s own change story began when she left architectural practice to focus on the broader world of innovation. She spent a decade as an Associate Partner at world-renowned design consultancy IDEO where she helped launch two practice areas and was responsible for the creation and delivery of highly collaborative, discovery-driven innovation programs for Fortune 500 businesses, and the design of original learning experiences and integrated coaching programs for high-potential leaders and teams in the private, social, and public sectors.

An insatiable curiosity about why and how innovation succeeds (or not) led to internal roles in organizations across a variety of industries, and the discovery that all change efforts are the result of relationship-driven leadership, not simply the application of a new technology or the introduction of a novel business model.

After serving as a Principal in Korn Ferry’s Leadership and Professional Development practice, Laura was inspired to re-launch her own practice, Design Diplomacy, LLC, to support organizations that are committed to delivering innovative outcomes for a better world. In addition to being an ICF-certified coach and leadership development consultant, she is a professional mediator and trainer with The Resolution Center in Beverly, MA.
