Explore key moments from your career using thought-provoking prompts and fun storytelling frameworks. Develop a list of career moments that you can turn into engaging and empowering stories.

Identify career experiences that illustrate your talents, passions, and values

Apply storytelling frameworks to make your stories clear, compelling, and concise. Develop the emotional undercurrent of your stories to unlock important life lessons.

Shape your stories to grab attention and connect deeper

Every story has an audience, even if that audience is you. By understanding your audience on a human level, you can tweak your story to hook them and make a clear ask that will lead to action.

Tailor your stories to inspire your audiences to take action

We spend so much of our life at work, but we have very few spaces to share our work stories. We'll create a safe and supportive environment to share your stories, get feedback, practice active listening, and learn how to ask better follow-up questions.

Confidently share at least one career story with your fellow students

You are the author of your own story, so you get to decide where it goes next. Use storytelling prompts and techniques to imagine the career you want to build and map the journey you’ll take to get there.

Proactively create the career story you want to tell next

You know you have stories, but how can you find them? In this session, we'll play fun games and do journaling prompts to identify many experiences from your career journey that could become meaningful stories.

Episode 1: What's Your Story?

Stories are more than a list of things that happened. They include an emotional undercurrent that creates a human connection. In this session, we will apply simple yet powerful frameworks to get to the heart of your story. We will also learn how to ask better questions and use stories in conversation.

Episode 2: But It's Really About...

In this session, we'll learn how to put our stories into a Story Spine framework to make sure we have a compelling beginning, middle, and end. We'll also play a fun game to learn how to add the right amount of detail and forward movement to your stories.

Episode 3: Shaping Our Stories

Stories always have an audience, even if that audience is yourself. Today, we'll get to know our audiences on a human level. We'll use the You + Me = US framework to practice tweaking our stories to motivate them to take our desired actions.

Episode 4: Know Your Audience

Everyone will have a chance to share their story with the class and get feedback. (We split this up over 2 sessions.) We will also spend time reflecting on the type of story we want to tell about our future careers.

Episode 5: Storytime! (Part 1) + Our Future Story

More great stories from the class! Plus, we will create some actionable steps on how to make our future stories a reality.

Episode 6: Storytime! (Part 2) + Moving Forward

Meet your instructor

Our two-hour sessions will be a mix of group activities &amp; games, small group breakouts and story practice, and time for individual reflection and journaling.

6 Tuesdays

We're all really busy. Finding time to do the guided journaling prompts can be hard. So let's do them together! We'll kick off with a brief intro, have quiet working time, and come back for a nice reflection on the exercise.Note: We'll poll the class to pick a recurring time.

Optional Group Journaling Time

This course comes with a number of guided journaling prompts to help you go deeper. There will also be a number of video lessons that build on concepts we cover in class.

Individual Reflection & Video Lessons

We will regroup as a cohort 3 months and 6 months after our course to check in and continue to practice our skills. It's a great way to stay in touch with the folks in the course, and get celebrated for all your wins.

Six Weeks To Career Confidence

Using the guided journal prompts and activities, you will become really proud of how far you've come, and get clear on where you want to go next.

Know yourself better

You never know who needs to hear your story. We'll have lots of group breakouts and chances to share your story with the class. This fosters a deep sense of connection with your fellow classmates. You might even make a new friend or networking buddy!

We're in this together

This class will NOT teach you how to write the best resume, optimize your Linkedin, or ace every interview. Think of it as the first step in that direction. This class WILL help you understand your bigger-picture career story, and how to tailor your stories for different audiences and scenarios.
