Four types of signal matter for innovation: Real Need, "Get It", "Want It Enough" and "Worth It For Us". You'll learn how to define and agree pivot triggers for these signals with decision-makers before starting work. It'll change how you approach risk.

Understand which signals matter, and how to get them

No more being bamboozled by dodgy metrics. You'll help teams separate their observations from their interpretations and avoid the trap of simple stories. You'll translate signals of all kinds into ideas that nobody could have had otherwise.

Turn confusing signals into insights that generate new ideas

Use a simple but powerful thought exercise to uncover the hopes and fears that drive your colleagues' behaviours (and your own). You can use this as a workshop or just in conversation. It'll change how you work.

You'll facilitate the Time Machine exercise, a thought experiment that clarifies the goals and risks of any initiative by uncovering hidden hopes and fears. Harness fear as the most powerful starting point for coherent action and discovery.

Time Machine

Before you take action, you'll use a simple format to agree exactly what you'll need to see to feel confident enough to decide what to do next. You'll set clear expectations and avoid sunk cost bias. To figure out what you need to see, tell parallel stories about your best and worst possible worlds in all the multiverse.

Pivot Triggers and Multiverse Maps

You'll master the four types of signal that matter for innovation. And you'll quickly get the signals you need to see, using a range of methods for poking the world: pretotypes, prototypes and other probes.

Signals and Probes

You'll generate insights that change the stories your team are telling with the Signals &gt; Stories &gt; Options framework. You'll uncover ideas and possibilities you wouldn't otherwise have seen.
