You're sick of spending hours working on simple reports and want to do deep analytical work instead.

What you'll learn

Not only will you learn about Prime Route, my 5-step Decision Science framework developed over several years, but also the background behind good decisions and how to help your stakeholders take better decisions.

Analysts don't usually help take decisions, but they should.

You'll learn all about enabling stakeholders (and you!) to design better hypotheses. After all, a decision starts with an assumption that we want to prove or disprove!

Figure out the important stuff.

Slipping off into the depths of darkness for your analysis doesn't yield good results. With a proven lean process that involves stakeholders during the analysis stages, you'll be answering questions in hours, not days.

Data insights are more impactful when reached collaboratively.

Before we get cooking with data, we need to get things set up - what is required to approach our thinking and decision science? We'll tie theory and practice together while introducing the 5-step decision science framework Prime Route. Outcome: you have a firm understanding of decision science and what the ideal process looks like.

Module 1: Mise-en-place 🔪

Armed with the tools and knowledge, we can tackle our data challenges head-on. Using examples from both my experience as well as the class, we will work through cases, using powerful SQL and visualisations, to show how the Prime Route framework works. Outcome: using the process in practice will be comfortable for you.

Module 2: Stirring up some insights ♨️

Bring your own data! We focus on tying everything together and how it feels to interact with stakeholders. Through mock interactions during sessions as well as asynchronous group work, you'll have the chance to focus on a single research question. Outcome: as you can bring you own data, you become deeply familiar with the framework.

Module 3: Delivery 🍱 

There will also be many opportunities to get live instructor and peer feedback on your work and address your specific challenges.

Course syllabus

Where you live shouldn't dictate what type of information you have access to. For this course, I have used a tool to calculate a discount based on how much things cost relative to income, in a framework called Purchasing Power Parity (PPP). PPP pricing is available for most countries and is based on the credit card booking origin. Discounts range between 20-70%. As Maven currently doesn't have the technical ability to apply this automatically, please contact me before booking or afterwards to ensure you profit from this discount!

We will hold our 2h live-learn sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you're not able to attend, recordings will be available immediately afterwards in the Student Hub on Maven.

2 x Weekly Sessions (Tue / Thu) 🧠

In addition to learning live, you should complete a small project, either on your own or with others from the class - as you prefer! This is completely optional, but it's strongly encouraged to apply the learnings to your own situation.
