Crush math like a mathlete - ACT & SAT

4 Weeks

·

Cohort-based Course

Learn a mathlete's problem-solving skills, techniques, and strategies to maximize your ACT or SAT math score

Course overview

Build your mathlete mindset

Using ACT/SAT math problems as our guide, we will solve questions live, learn tricks, and build techniques over four weeks. By the end of this course, you will see math in a different light and have a better understanding of how to approach math, your new perspective serving you in standardized tests, the classroom, and beyond.

Be ready to focus and work hard, proactively ask and answer questions, and open your mind to make the most of this experience. If you're looking to improve in ACT/SAT math, a major factor for how much your score increases is your engagement in lessons and personal practice.

Throughout the course, you'll also learn valuable mindsets and how to be resourceful overall.

Why ACT and SAT math together? Why not separate courses for each?

This exactly shows my main point! With my test-taking and tutoring experience, I found that when you focus on understanding math and overall problem-solving skills, the ACT and SAT are the same; preparing for one with my method is the same as preparing for the other.

Who is this course for

01

High schoolers aiming to take the ACT/SAT within the next year.

02

Students in algebra 2 and above who want to improve their math foundation and problem-solving skills. (Don't have to be taking ACT/SAT soon)

What you’ll get out of this course

Mathlete tricks to solve problems more quickly and accurately

Want to be like a mathlete and breeze through the test? School math is generally not enough to score excellently on the ACT/SAT. Discover math tricks and a deeper understanding of concepts that makes it easy to get the solution with the fastest, least error-prone solution.

The mathlete mindset and problem-solving skills that will serve you beyond the ACT/SAT

Mathletes know that the best way to improve in math is by developing a math sense that is not dependent on memorizing formulas. We will build problem-solving skills and pattern recognition that make you able to tackle any unfamiliar problem.

Test-taking techniques and strategies when approaching new problems

Timing is one of students' biggest struggles on standardized testing. Learn how to manage your pacing, state of mind, and more when faced with stressful situations and difficult problems.

What people are saying

You really helped me improve my test scores. The tips you provided helped me ensure that I had enough time for all the questions while still getting them right. The tips I learned were applicable for my classes outside of standardized testing; I could apply those things in my math and English classes. I ended up getting a 33 (ACT) and 1470 (SAT).

My goal is to help you reach your potential and, ultimately, ace life. I'm a 4.0 graduate from Caltech where I studied chemical engineering and played varsity basketball. In high school, I was valedictorian and got perfect scores on the math section of the ACT and SAT, each with 10 minutes to spare.
