Jesse is an ex-Microsoft, ex-SpaceX engineer who loves trumpeting his resume to manufacture curiosity around his ridiculously expensive internet class. He’s the cofounder of Socially Inept: Tech Roast Show, a nationally touring tech comedy roast that has never not sold out a show. He’s garnered hundreds of thousands of followers, tens of millions of views, and regularly performs standup all over the country. He'll convince you that funny is the fastest way to stand out online, no matter what Tucker says. Literally who even listens to poetry.
Tucker fell in love with poetry while studying at Stanford and saw an opportunity to enrich my communication with poetic concepts beyond the confines of a manuscript. Over the last decade, these concepts helped Tucker land a job at Google, propelled him through promotions, and ultimately launched his career as an international keynote speaker that's earned him millions of views and put me on stages alongside people like Mark Cuban, Bill Belichick, Gary Vaynerchuk, and Magic Johnson.
01
Joke Structure
Like songs, jokes are composed of specific structures that most people are oblivious to. You'll dissect a bunch, reverse engineering them until their underlying formulas become clear. And you'll do this again and again until jokes cease to impress you and you never laugh again.
02
Figurative Language
Poets use figures of speech to make abstract ideas come alive. You'll use them to communicate complex ideas with ease. You'll learn the formula for creating metaphors and similes that will help your audience grasp your ideas and leave your most important concepts embedded in their imaginations.
03
One Liners
You'll learn what makes sticky slogans stick and quoteworthy quotes quotable. Then you'll combine this with your newfound comedy and poetry prowess to construct sentences that sing. “Sentences that sing” was honestly a little much, but you get it.
04
Delivery
You have the stage presence of a soggy crouton. All good. You'll learn how to apply the timing, dynamics, and choreography necessary to turn a speech, workshop, or presentation into an encore worthy performance.
