I help empower beginning traders to take control of their (newfound) passion by teaching them how to trade responsibly.

The difference between losing or making money is whether you gamble (fruitless random trading) or approach trading systematically (according to a solid pre-defined set of trading rules).

My experience stems from trial and error and is shaped by emotional labor and hard work. I nearly lost my entire trading capital and learned to trade the hard way until I found a system that worked.

This course aims to teach young professionals who are successful in their world but new to trading or unsuccessful. This course is for those who understand trading is not a "get-rich-quick-scheme" and want to learn how to responsibly trade and grow their trading capital.

Week 1

Feb 27—Mar 5

Module 1: Positioning

We start with trader-market fit so that you can build your unique features into the DNA of your trading system from day one. In this module, you will:

Discover your trading profile
Narrow down the scope of your trading style so its easier to build
Define your ideal market environment
Draft your trading style

Module 2: Trading Structure and Mechanics

In this module, you will:

Discover the Trader Mechanics Canvas and how to use it when designing your trading system
Determine the basics of trading like; your frequency, the liquidity of your markets, the number of markets, and what trend you'll trade.
Break down the key components of your trading system
Determine your trading capital and capital management rules
Don't focus too much on your trade setup/management, next week we'll zoom in on that.

Week 2

Mar 6—Mar 12

Module 3: Trade Setup

You will create an objective, repeatable method of entering and exiting the markets using the Building Blocks of an Effective Trade Plan. You'll determine the data sources you'll look at before checking the charts, and you'll simplify and clarify the essential parts of each trade.

By the end, you'll be ready to enter and exit the market in a consistent manner and have a plan to test in the next module.

Module 4: Backtesting

We'll talk about the importance of testing and how to test well. We'll show you what to look for in search of your trading edge.

Module 5: Paper trading

Although not 100% representative paper trading can be a useful tool when testing strategies and developing your strategy.

In this module you will:

Setup your demo platform
Test your system by entering trades in the live markets

Mar 20—Mar 26

Module 6: Master your mind

Having a plan that on paper should bring you the edge, the most difficult part of trading is in you and your emotions. Understanding your emotions and being able to detect and manage mistakes early can make or break your trading career.

In this module, we'll be creating a system to stop making the same mistakes over and over again. Based on Jared Tendler's book "The Mental Game of Trading" you are going to learn to build your system for trading psychology.

It is highly recommended to read or listen to the (audio)book. You can buy it here.

It is recommended that you do all ACTION items. The ADVANCED items are optional and depend on your individual flaws.

In the last module, you'll share the progress you've made.

In this module, you'll:

Bring all the systems you learned together.
Give and receive feedback to and from peers.
